Yakup Krespi

Yakup Krespi is Professor of Neurology and Interventional Neurology, Faculty and Head of the Istinye University Neurology Department, and Director of the Istinye University Comprehensive Stroke Center and Neurorepair Unit. He is the founder of the MLP CARE Health Group Stroke Network Program.

Education

Dr Krespi graduated from Saint Michel French High School in Istanbul in 1981, received his undergraduate education at Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical Faculty between 1981 and 1987, and trained in neurology at Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI), Pitié-Salpêtrière Faculty of Medicine in Paris, France between 1988 and 1992.

Experience & Certifications

He was formerly Faculty in the Cerebrovascular Diseases Division, Dr Edip Aktin Stroke Unit, and Director of the Neurosonology Department at Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical Faculty, Neurology Department from 1995 to 2005. Between 2005 and 2012 he joined Istanbul Science University and became Director of the Florence Nightingale Stroke Center and Neurological Intensive Care Unit. From 2012 to June 2017 he served as Director of the Memorial Health Group Comprehensive Stroke Center.

He has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of Neurology, Neurosonology, and Interventional Neurology. He holds the first Certificate of ECMINT (European Course of Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy), held at St Anne's College, Oxford, UK, in 2014.
